This is a short scene I shared on my Facebook page a few months ago. It is written in third person which I never write. For some reason it spoke to me this way. However, please note the stories won’t be in third person. I’m a first person kind of girl with dual POV. <3
If you are not sure who Braedyn is make sure to check out the section on this website, “What’s to come?” and you will find the answer there.
A Tattoo for Annabelle
“What the hell is that?” Jaxson asks Annabelle, pointing down at her barefoot.
“What’s what?” She feigns ignorance, taking another bite of her pancakes but can’t deny the way her heart is about to pound out of her chest.
“That!” he snaps.
“It’s called a tattoo, Dad. You should recognize it since you have so many.”
Braedyn grunts, amused by her sarcasm.
However, Jaxson finds none of it funny. “Who the hell gave you permission do to that?”
Annabelle rolls her eyes. “No one because I’m an adult and can make my own decisions.”
Jaxson doesn’t like that response. His furious gaze snaps to Braedyn. “Did you take her to do this?”
Braedyn raises his hands in surrender. “Hey man, don’t look at me. I had nothing to do with it. This was all her.”
Annabelle tosses him a glare, still mad at him from the other night then looks back at her Dad. “Have you even looked close enough to see what it is?”
“I don’t want to know what it is. I want to pretend it’s not there.”
With a heavy sigh, she turns in her chair toward him and places her foot on his knee, showing him the anchor with a bow on it and the words, “Forever my hero.”
Jaxson stares down at it, his hard expression softening. His ice blue eyes lift to her face, finding the matching color in hers.
She graces him with a smile. “I love you, Dad.”
He pulls her out of her chair and enfolds her in his arms. “I love you too, baby.”
